Sales Partner, self-employed
Own Time Studios builds websites, booking platforms and apps for businesses across Essex and London. We are looking for one or two people who can sell them.

Read this first.
This is a self-employed, commission-only role. There is no salary, no basic pay and no guaranteed income. You are paid a percentage of what you sell. It is not suitable if you need a guaranteed wage. There is nothing to buy from us at any stage: no fees, no training charges, no lead costs.

You will be selling work that is already live.
Nothing here is a mock-up or a case study written after the fact. These are real businesses running on what we built, and you can open any of them from your pocket.
Restaurant and events venue
Booking, ordering and events platform with card payments.

Conversion-focused sites for appointment-led businesses.
Photographer
Image-heavy portfolio built to strict performance budgets.
Everything above is live. You can open any of it on your phone in front of a customer.
The role
You open the doors. We build what you sell.
You are not reading from a script and you are not chasing a list someone else wrote. You pick the market, we prepare the ground, and you have the conversation. The technical side is ours.
- 50 per cent commission on every project you close, paid after the client signs off the completed work
- You set the price on each deal, above a minimum we agree in advance
- You choose the market. Tell us the industries or specific businesses you want to approach and we build you a research pack: what they use now, where it falls short, what we would build, and how to open the conversation
- A working demonstration built before you walk in
- Face to face rather than cold calling. Phone and email where they work better, but meeting owners in person is the approach we believe in
- You are not alone in the room. Once you have secured genuine interest or a signed agreement, one of us can attend the client with you or on your behalf. You do not need to answer deep technical questions yourself
- Training on the products if you need it. A technical background is preferred, not essential
- One day a week or five. Your hours, your methods, your patch
The money
What the money can look like.
Projects typically run from £500 to £3,000, so £250 to £1,500 commission per sale. Larger app and software builds sit above that.

These figures are arithmetic based on our typical project values. They are not the past performance of a salesperson, because this is a new role. There is no guarantee of any earnings. What you earn depends entirely on what you close.

Essential
- Confident approaching business owners face to face without an appointment
- Able to hold a commercial conversation and ask for the sale
- Comfortable working entirely on commission with no guaranteed income
- Self-motivated and able to organise your own time and workload
- Honest and reliable representing another company to its future clients
- Registered as self-employed or willing to register, and able to invoice
Desirable
- Previous experience selling to small and independent businesses, for example card payments or EPOS, print or signage, telecoms, business services, hospitality or trade supply, recruitment or property
- An existing network of local business contacts in Essex or London
- Some understanding of websites, software or apps
- Full UK driving licence and use of a vehicle
No formal qualifications are needed and no coding knowledge is required. We provide the research, the demonstration and all technical support.
The other arm
There is a second thing to sell, coming.
We also run Shout Social Media Ltd, a local social platform live on the App Store and Google Play. It puts a town's people, events and businesses on one live map, with a business directory, ordering and proximity-based promotions. As it grows there will be a further, recurring sales opportunity there.
