Care and maintenance plans
A website is not finished the day it goes live. Our care plans keep your site updated, backed up, secure and monitored, with small content changes handled for you. And if you do not need one, we will say so.
Who it is for
Care plans suit businesses whose site does real work every day: taking bookings, selling products, bringing in enquiries. If your prices, menus, opening hours or team change through the year, a plan means those updates are handled for you, without you ever touching the code. It also suits owners who simply want to know someone is watching: that backups exist, updates are applied, and if the site goes down, we hear about it quickly.
Plans are not only for our own builds. If someone else built your site and you want it looked after, get in touch and we will take an honest look first.
What is included
Software and platform updates
We keep the code your site runs on current, apply updates promptly and check the site still works properly afterwards.
Regular backups
Copies of your site and content, stored separately from the site itself, so if something breaks we can restore a known good version.
Security checks
Certificates kept valid, suspicious activity watched for, and patches applied when they matter rather than when it is convenient.
Uptime monitoring
Automated checks tell us if your site stops responding, so problems get investigated before most visitors ever notice.
Small content changes
New prices, opening hours, a fresh photo, a team change, a swapped paragraph. Send it over and we make the edit for you.
Form and link checks
We check your contact forms actually deliver and your links still go somewhere, because a broken enquiry form costs you quietly.
A plain monthly note
A short summary in plain English of what we did, what we found and anything worth deciding on. No jargon, no padding.
Honest scope notes
A care plan covers keeping what you have healthy and current. It does not cover redesigns, new pages built from scratch, or new features such as booking systems and payment flows. Those are proper projects and we quote them separately, so you always know what a job costs before we start.
Be honest with yourself about whether you need one. A simple brochure site that rarely changes can sit happily for months with an occasional check. If that is you, we will say so when we hand the site over, and you can always call us if something breaks.
There is no lock-in either way. You own everything we build: design, code, content and source files. A care plan is a convenience you choose, not a dependency we create, and you can stop it whenever it stops earning its keep.
Fair questions
- Do I really need a care plan?
- Not always. If your site is a few simple pages and nothing much changes, it can run for long stretches with only occasional attention. Plans earn their keep when a site takes bookings, sells products or changes often. We will give you a straight answer either way.
- What counts as a small content change?
- Editing text, swapping photos, updating prices, opening hours or menus, adding a team member. If a request grows into a new page or a new feature, we tell you before any work starts and quote it as a separate job.
- Am I tied in if I take a plan?
- No. You own the design, code, content and source files whether you take a plan or not. If you stop the plan, the site is still yours and everything carries on working.
- My site was built by someone else. Can you look after it?
- Usually, yes. We take a look first, tell you honestly what state it is in and what we would need to put right before taking it on, then quote from there.
- What happens if something breaks and I do not have a plan?
- Call us on 01702 593119 or email luke@owntimestudios.com and we will help. Plan clients come first in the queue, and one-off fixes are quoted before we start.
- How do I send a change request?
- Email what you want changed to luke@owntimestudios.com, or ring the studio on 01702 593119 if it is easier to explain out loud. We confirm what we have received and let you know when it will be done.
